It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Ann Coombs Matthews, who was born on April 11, 1942, in Massachusetts and peacefully passed away at home on November 2, 2026, surrounded by her three loving daughters.

Ann enjoyed a successful career as a realtor in Fort Myers, Florida, before making her home in Seneca, South Carolina, where she lived for the past 20 years.

Ann found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She had a special affection for cats, loved watching football, and was an avid reader and enthusiastic cook. She also treasured the time she spent playing bridge with her close-knit circle of friends. These everyday joys, along with the friendships she cherished, were an important part of the life she built.

Ann is survived by her sister, Patricia Morse and her husband Thomas Morse; her three daughters, Debi Burchard, Christine Spadorcia, and Heather Heidt; and her two beloved grandchildren, Ann Marie Spadorcia and Timmy Heidt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Luria.

In keeping with Ann’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, she requested that friends and family honor her memory by considering a donation to a local charity that supports animals. The Oconee Humane Society and Wild Hearts Equine Therapy in Seneca, were causes close to her heart.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by those whose lives she touched.
