Charles Dewey Daniels, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, at his son’s home in South Carolina, with his wife of 62 years, Barbara Alene Daniels, by his side. Charlie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who treasured his family above all else. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his sons, Charles “Chuck” Daniels (Michele), and Dr. Raymond Daniels (Maranda); his grandchildren, Dr. Abigail Grubb (Tyler), Dawson Daniels, Gabriel Daniels, and Charles Daniels. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Charlie was a proud coal miner who worked hard throughout his life and took great pride in providing for his family. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and an exceptional gardener. Above all, Charlie will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the many memories he created with them. His 62-year marriage to Barbara was a testament to a lifetime of love, devotion, and companionship.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Charlie’s memory to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, an organization that provided compassionate care and comfort during his final days.
