Darryl Supple, 62, passed away at his home on Lake Keowee in Salem, SC, on July 10, 2026. Born in Hartford, CT, he spent his childhood in Sarasota, FL and his later years between Salem, SC and Greensboro, NC.

To know Darryl was to know a man who lived with enthusiasm, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to the people he loved. Family was the center of his world and the greatest joy of his life. Nothing made him happier than gathering everyone together—whether for holidays, weekends at the lake, or simply because it was time to make another memory. He had a remarkable gift for bringing people together and creating the kind of moments that would be talked about for years. Wherever Darryl was, there was laughter, plenty of noise, a little chaos, and a whole lot of love—and he wouldn't have wanted it any other way. He never held back and was always ready to try something new, dreaming up the next adventure and making it happen.

Darryl was a faithful and devoted husband to his beloved wife, Melissa Supple, sharing a life built on love, partnership, and countless cherished memories. He was an incredibly proud father to his daughter, Hannah Harris, whom he loved fiercely. Some of his happiest times were spent coaching Hannah's youth soccer teams, cheering her on, and supporting her in every stage of life.

Becoming "Papa" was one of Darryl's greatest joys. He adored his grandsons, Theo, Paxton, and Luca Harris, and treasured every moment with them. Whether they were out on the boat with Papa proudly letting them "drive," riding high on his shoulders, or simply exploring together, he made each day an adventure. His grandsons knew they were well loved, and the memories they shared with him will remain with them always.

Darryl's love extended well beyond his immediate family. As the oldest child in his family, he was a strong role model for his younger siblings and a loyal and reliable son to his parents. He loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own and delighted in being part of their lives. He believed that the greatest gift anyone could give was time together, and he intentionally created spaces where family could gather, celebrate, laugh, and make lasting memories.

Darryl graduated from Riverview High School before continuing his education at Manatee Community College and the University of South Florida. As a young adult, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later in the Air National Guard from 1984 to 1999, including service during Operation Desert Storm. He carried that same sense of duty, loyalty, and commitment into every aspect of his life.

Darryl was preceded in death by his mother, Malvedeen Supple. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Supple, his daughter, Hannah Harris and her husband, Connor, and his cherished grandsons, Theo, Paxton, and Luca Harris, who brought him endless joy as "Papa."

He is also survived by his father, Vincent Supple and wife, Jane, his brothers, David Supple (Laura) and Michael Supple (Stephanie), his sisters, Beth Normandin (Jeep) and Traci Harris (Michael), and his sisters-in-law, Amy Petre (Mircea) and Emily Gambrell.

He will also be lovingly remembered by his nephews and nieces, Jonathan Supple (Carolyn), Dylan Supple, Camron Reigelsperger, Carah Mast (Ryan), Brittani Hochstein (Lucas), Kristi Jenkins (Anthony), Macey DeFreitas (Kalysta), Karlee DeFreitas, Libby Petre, Grace DeSerio, Maple DeSerio, and Olive DeSerio, along with great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Darryl's legacy is not measured by accomplishments alone, but by the countless memories he created, the traditions he started, the adventures he inspired, and the love he poured into his family. His greatest legacy lives on in the family he loved and in the countless memories they will continue to share because of him. His spirit will live on in every family gathering, every boat ride, every celebration, and every story shared around the table.

He will be greatly missed, forever loved, and remembered always.
