David "Flat"  Wayne Lay, 63, widower of Carolyn Ann Lay, of Walhalla passed away on March 31, 2026. Born in Seneca, he was the son of Rufus Lay and Alice Ida Fuller Lay.

Survivors include his children; Kachel Gibson (Dewayne), Carly Angela Sims (Janie), Carla Andra Kay (Roger) and special friend, Teresa Sims other survivors include his grandchildren; Leslie Eades, Drew Schaffer, Hope Carver, Audra Sims, Abby Sims, and five great-grandchildren, he is also survived by his siblings; Linda, William (Robin), James (Robin), Sherree Donald, and Lisa Hedden (Marcus).

David was predeceased by his wife and one step - son David "Bean" Carver. 

He loved his children and his grandchildren, he also enjoyed being outside. 

The family will receive friends at 1:00PM on Friday, April, 3, 2026 at Brown Funerals. A service will follow in the Chapel of Brown Funerals at 2:00PM.
