Douglas John Olin Edmond, Jr., affectionately known as DJ, passed away on December 20, 2025, in his hometown of Seneca, South Carolina. He was born on July 1, 1975, and spent his life deeply rooted in the community that shaped him.
DJ was a man of many passions, with a profound love for the outdoors. An avid deer hunter and fisherman, he found joy in nature, relishing the peaceful moments spent in the wilderness, whether casting a line into the water or tracking game through the woods. His enthusiasm for these pursuits was infectious, often bringing friends and family together for memorable outings.
DJ's family was central to his life. He is survived by his sister, Sharel Broome, and his daughter, Addison, who will carry forward his legacy. In addition, he is remembered fondly by his nieces, including Shayla (Justin) Lusk, as well as his great-nephew, Montana Lusk. DJ shared a bond with his half-brothers, John Edmond and Kevin Edmond, both of Liberty, and with his step-parents, Phillip Black and Belle Edmond.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Olin Edmond, Sr., and his mother, Sharion Black. Their memories remain an integral part of his story, as DJ's life was undoubtedly influenced by their love and guidance.
DJ will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and dedication to his family and friends. His presence left a lasting impact on all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
