Irene Lydia Perry Gibson of Seneca, died Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the home of her son Roger, in Liberty, SC. She was 88 years old.

Irene was born on October 27, 1937 in Padgett, Bermuda. She married Leroy Earl Gibson in March of 1962, and they lived in Bermuda, Florida and the Philippines. They settled in Seneca, South Carolina and Irene lovingly served her family as a stay at home mother. She was a member of Utica Baptist Church and loved traveling with the senior citizens group.

Irene is survived by her children Lee (Kathy), Roger (Pam) and Scott and two grand daughters, Holly Miller (Austin) and Ivy Grace Burgess (Jamie), her five great grandchildren, Jameson and Marybeth Miller, and AJ, Selah and Essie Burgess. Sisters Lucy Hemberger and Mary Shaver.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl and three brothers, Abel Perry, Johnny Perry and Daniel Perry.

Family and friends, and others whose lives Irene touched are invited to celebrate Mrs. Irene on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Brown Funerals, 101 E. North Second Street, Seneca. The Burial will follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family kindly request donations be made to the Agape Care South Carolina, AgapeCareGroup.com/SC to honor the memory of Irene.
