Joseph Alonzo Martin, 80, of Seneca, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026.

Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late Alonzo Patrick Martin and Dixie Bearden Martin. Joe grew up in the Oakway Community on Marlatin Farm with his family until his relocation to the Seneca area.

Joe worked for Clemson University, and he also worked for Sneider Electric through the Tribble Center.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Virginia Martin, and Flora (Ernest) Martin Riley. Other survivors include five nephews, Quincy Bowen, Walker Bowen, Martin Bowen, McKenzie Riley, and Patrick Riley who was caring and helpful to Joe for many years. Joe also had several surviving cousins who visited him often.

Two brothers, John Davis Martin, and William Walker Martin predeceased him.

A private family graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Oconee Memorial Park.

The family asks in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672, or The Tribble Center, 116 South Cove Road, Seneca, SC 29672.
