Julie Ann Voss

Julie Ann (Gabrielson) Voss, 69, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, in Seneca, South Carolina, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer, with her loving husband by her side.

Julie was born in Gladstone, Michigan, on July 6, 1956, to Carole and Melvin Gabrielson. She is survived by her mother, age 95; her sister, Lauri Decamp (Robert); her devoted husband, Todd Voss; their two children, Matthew and Emily; and four grandchildren — Lucas, Nathan, Ella, and Everly.

Julie and Todd met while attending Michigan State University and were married in 1978. Their life together took them from Michigan to Maryland, Indiana, and finally to South Carolina. Julie spent many years raising their two children and devoted countless hours volunteering in their schools. Her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit later led her into the coffee industry, where she built and mentored student-run coffeehouses on the campuses of Indiana Wesleyan University and Southern Wesleyan University. Through these roles, she poured into the lives and education of hundreds of student managers and baristas, as well as countless students, staff and faculty whom she served with warmth and care each day.

Julie lived out her faith in Jesus through a life overflowing with generosity and hospitality. Whether offering a cup of coffee to a student who needed a moment of comfort or encouraging her husband to reach out to a colleague or a friend of the university at just the right time. Julie had a remarkable gift for recognizing the needs of others, remembering important details of their lives, and connecting them with love and encouragement…often accompanied by a warm coffeehouse beverage! Her servant leadership and deep love for the Lord allowed her to impact thousands of lives.

As grandchildren entered her life, they became one of her greatest joys. Even throughout her cancer journey, she found renewed strength and energy to invest in their lives with passion, creativity, and unwavering love. Among the many ways she could be described, Julie Voss was a loving wife and mother, entrepreneurial pioneer, eager volunteer, gracious host, and resilient survivor. Her legacy of faith, service, and love will live on in the countless people she touched.
