Leon Ray Watkins, of Westminster, born July 12, 1947 passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 8, 2026.

 He is survived by his loving wife of the 56 years Janice of the home, his daughter Jessica (Chad) Smith, of Lexington, a son, Luke Watkins, of Westminster, and his beloved granddaughter Morgan of Lexington. 

He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Harriet Watkins and one sister, Charlene. 

A US ARMY Veteran, Leon served in Korea during the Vietnam War. After serving he received his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Social Work to continue serving others in counseling for more than 20 years. He enjoyed Bass fishing and golfing. He will be missed by many friends in the Chickasaw Point Men's Golf Group and most by his family. As his wishes a service will be held at a later date at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. 

Donations in his name can be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society  or a local animal rescue.

The  family is at the home.
