Michele White
Brunson
August 20, 1968 — October 11, 2026
Seneca
In Loving Memory of Michele Antoinette White Brunson
Michele (known in her youth as “Shelly”) Antoinette White Brunson, 58, of Seneca, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, from complications of cancer at Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House of the Foothills in Seneca. Born on August 20, 1968, in Middletown, New York, Michele was the daughter of Margery “Margie” Lancaster White Fuller and Anthony “Tony” William White.
She grew up in Sunset, SC where she lived through middle school. She then moved to Seneca and graduated as a Bobcat in 1987. Upon graduation from high school, Michele was employed at the Oconee Community Residence at Tribble Center as a caregiver. After becoming a mother, she was employed at Oconee Memorial Hospital as a housekeeper. She attended night classes at TriCounty Technical College and became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She then worked locally at residential care homes and in the Tidewater Virginia area where she lived for a few years and worked (in part) as a CNA at Sentera Obici Hospital. Michele’s caring nature had many opportunities to shine throughout her life.
Michele had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly cats and dogs. She also found happiness in the simple beauty of the world around her—the cheerful songs of birds, flowers in bloom, the rewards of a garden, dragonflies, and the brilliant colors of autumn. These everyday wonders brought her genuine joy.
And then there were the card games!
Michele loved playing cards, especially rummy, and anyone who ever sat across the table from her knew she wasn’t playing just to pass the time. She was fiercely competitive, remarkably good at the game, and not particularly easy to beat! Finding someone willing to challenge her was always a welcome opportunity, although winning against Michele was another matter entirely. And when no one was available to play, she was perfectly content to enjoy game after game of solitaire—where, perhaps, she finally had an opponent who could keep up with her.
Michele is survived by her beloved daughter, Mary Elizabeth “MaryBeth” Brunson; her mother, Margie Fuller, and her husband, Rick Fuller; her father, Tony White, and his companion, Kazuko Bannister; and her sister, Valerie White Aartun, and her husband, Jeremy. In a beautiful and meaningful celebration of her life, Michele was honored with a living funeral/celebration of life, allowing family and friends to gather around her while she could still share in their love. Together, they exchanged photographs, stories, laughter, music, and cherished memories. Rather than waiting to celebrate her life after she was gone, those who loved Michele had the extraordinary opportunity to remind her, in person, via video, or through the written word just how much she meant to them.
Michele’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Cottingham Hospice House of the Foothills and to the many friends and loved ones who offered kindness, comfort, and support throughout her final months and days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice or to Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House of the Foothills. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, in the beauty of nature she so enjoyed, and in the countless little moments that made her uniquely Michele.
