In Loving Memory Of Nathaniel “Nat” Walker

Sunrise: October 22, 1938 Sunset: November 16, 2025

Nathaniel “Nat” Walker was born on October 22, 1938, in Oconee County, South Carolina, and ended his journey on earth to return to our heavenly father on November 16, 2025. Nathaniel found and married the love of his life, Betty Marie Walker, who celebrated their anniversary on November 8th and was married for 50 years. They loved and adored each other so very much. (Proverbs 18:22)

He was the son of the late William Walker and Corine Perry Walker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his four sisters: Garnell Walker, Sara Robinson, Bessie Walker, and Hazel McWhorter; two brothers: Clifford J. Walker and J.W. Walker.

Nathaniel (Uncle Nat) was the owner of Walker Concrete Sub-Contractor Commercial and Residential. He worked in concrete for many years, serving a wide range of clients in the upstate area. Not only did Nathaniel pour concrete, but he was a jack-of-all-trades. You couldn't name something he couldn't do. He was also known to do plumbing, roofing, and bricklaying, among other things.

Outside of his work ethic, He was also known to raise several generations of children, ranging from nieces and nephews to great-nieces and nephews to great-great-nieces and nephews, whom he protected, loved, and cared about so very much. Nathaniel was the sole provider for his family. He was truly loved and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his son, Billy G. Hoover “Pete” of Seneca, SC; three daughters: Pamela (Benjamin Poole), Tambria Walker, and Shalana Walker; siblings: Harold “Bobby” Walker and Doris Ramsey.

He also leaves to cherish his memory several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Nathaniel was abundantly loved and will be deeply missed.

(Isaiah 43:2, John 14:27)

Poem

A heart of gold stopped beating

Hard-working hands now rest

This has been one of life's challenges

But they do say, God only takes the best

We sat with you by your bedside. Our hearts became crushed and sore

We saw our duty through to the end until we could do no more

A life of kindness and laughter

Your love for all the family is so true

You did your best for all of us, and we will always remember you

You leave behind a legacy

So great, it's beyond measure

Our hearts are full of beautiful memories

So precious that we will treasure

You have been life's greatest blessing

A good friend to all that you knew. We take great comfort in knowing that we are proud to have been a part of you

Until the time comes we meet again

Who knows how long we have to wait. On behalf of your friends and family, we say God bless you, Dad. We love you, mate.
