Rita Madeline McCarson Young of Seneca, SC passed away peacefully on September 02 at the age of 82. She was born on April 04, 1944 to Fred and Hazel McCarson in Laurens, SC. After graduating from Laurens High School, she held various jobs and retired from Harris Teeter as deli manager.

Rita is survived by her children David (Faye) West, Mike (Tracy) Parker, Fred Parker, Kyanna Burnside, and Kisher Young. Rita is also survived by her sisters, Elaine Smart, Brenda Irwin, Karen (Jimmy) Edwards, and Cheryl (Reggie) Sentell. Rita is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, James Young; her parents, Fred and Hazel McCarson; her son, Keith Parker; and her daughter, Kimberly Hughes.

Rita’s son, Dr. David West, will officiate the Graveside service on Friday, September 11, 3:00 pm at Crown Memorial Park 9620 Rodney St, Pineville, NC 28134.
