Robert Paul Fajardo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at his residence, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on December 2, 1957, in New Jersey, Robert was a man of many talents and passions, deeply engaged in his community and devoted to his family.

A proud graduate of high school in 1975, Robert's life was marked by service and dedication. In 1975, he joined the Navy, where he served honorably for over a decade. His time included more than three years aboard a submarine in Hawaii, a testament to his courage and commitment to his country.

Robert was not only a dedicated service member but also a vibrant member of his community. He was actively involved in St. Andrews Catholic Church for 16 years, where his beautiful tenor voice graced the church choir. He also played guitar, sharing his musical gifts with fellow parishioners. His involvement extended to the Knights of Columbus, reflecting his devotion to service and faith.

In addition to his dedication to service and faith, Robert embraced a variety of hobbies that reflected his zest for life. An avid golfer, he was proud to be a member of the Utica Baptist golf team, where he enjoyed camaraderie and competition on the greens. His love for water also shone through in his years spent as a lifeguard and a water safety teacher at the YMCA, where, profoundly impacting young lives, he taught water safety to third graders. His time as a water polo player, earning numerous trophies in California, highlighted his athletic spirit and competitive nature.

Robert's warm personality brought joy to many. He enjoyed fishing, often spending tranquil days casting lines and enjoying nature's beauty. Those who were fortunate enough to know Robert remember him as a kind-hearted and generous soul, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a story filled with humor and warmth.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa Fajardo, who was his partner in life and in love. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Anthony C. Fajardo (Shantelle), Robert M. Fajardo (Hollie), and Anne Marie Coutu (Jeremie). Their bond as a family is further enriched by the presence of their beloved grandchild, Eleanor Faith Coutu. Robert also leaves behind his cherished brother, Douglas Fafardo, along with many nieces, nephews, and in-laws who held a special place in his heart.

Robert is reunited in spirit with his parents, Robert Philip and Eleanor DeVust who surely welcomed him with open arms.

As we reflect on Robert's life, we remember a man who found joy in every moment, treasured his family above all, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. His peaceful passing reminds us of the gentle spirit he embodied and the love he shared throughout his life. Robert Paul Fajardo will forever be missed but will continue to live on in the memories of those who loved him dearly.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Clemson, SC.
