RONALD DALE DOBBINS

Ronald Dale Dobbins passed from his earthly life into Eternal Life in Heaven on September 8, 2026. He was born on October 16, 1936, in Spindale, North Carolina. He is predeceased by his wife of 66 years Martha Hill Dobbins, daughter Cathryn Marie, parents Marcus Reid Dobbins and Willie Sue Blanton Tate, his sister Dorothea Dobbins Grizzard and many others.

Surviving is Ron’s son Michael R Dobbins with wife Cindy and his daughter Jenny D Monroewith husband Jim. Also surviving are grandchildren Rachel, Philip, Elizabeth (husband Matt), James (wife Kacie), and Heather. Great-Grandchildren surviving are Tillman, Deacon and Sterling. He was very proud of his family and loved them very much.

Ron lived most of his life in Greenville, SC with the love of his life Martha. He was saved and baptized at age 9. He was a devoted husband who loved to tell anyone about how he met Martha. It was truly a wonderful love story for ages. They were faithful members of Fellowship Greenville Church (formerly known as Southside Baptist Church). He is a 1955 graduate of Parker High School and retired from the textile industry after nearly a 50-year career.

He served in the Marine Corps Reserve from 1955 to 1963 receiving an Honorable Discharge in the rank of Corporal. Later in life Ron became a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League Owens/Kennemore Detachment #1105 in Greenville SC. He loved his Marine brotherhood, and he loved this great county.

One of his most memorable achievements was obtaining his sport pilot’s license around age 75, flying approximately 1,000 hours solo.

A Celebration of Life service is planned for October 24, 2026, at 11:00 at Fellowship Greenville Church, 3161 Hwy 14, Greenville, SC 29615. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the church or to the Marine Corps League Owens/Kennemore Detachment #1105.
