Sally Samples Jernigan went to be with her Lord and her Lewis on May 23, 2026.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend. She grew up in Garfield, GA. After graduating high school, she moved to Savannah. While working as a telephone operator, she lived at the YWCA and attended business school. She then worked in logistics at Brown Transportation.

Upon marrying Lewis F. Jernigan and moving to South Carolina, they happily lived in Seneca until his death. She is also preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings.

Sally loved quilting, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, sewing, reading and especially dancing. She also loved her church, Seneca First Baptist, where she served in Sunday School and VBS.

Surviving members of her family are her daughter Vennice and her grandchildren Ellen (Mustafa), Mark, Anna Grace (Jesse) and Beth.

Services will be Saturday May 30, 2026 at 1:00PM Reedy Fork Baptist Church, 115 E. Reedy Fork Road Seneca, SC 29678.
