Sylvia Mae James, 87, of Townville, passed away on June 20, 2026. Born in Craig, Arkansas, she was the daughter of William Albertus Dewey and Carrie Lou Dewey.

Survivors include her children, who cherished their mother dearly, Angela (James) Beam, Jones (Carol) Alvarez, Kelly Ann (David) Cox, Michael Lowry and Willis (Jackie) Lowry, 19 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren. Other survivors include her siblings, Lorene Stewart, Sue Dewey, Judy Taylor, Carolyn Taylor, James Travis, Lonnie Travis, Donnie Travis, and Mark Travis.

She was predeceased by her parents, her grandparents, Mack and Cora Dewey, and William and Carrie Lou Carroll and two children, Michelle Smith and Thomas Lowry.

Sylvia loved flowers and gardening, being outdoors, always very crafty with sewing and knitting, embroidering and canning.

She loved her family and her Savior. She searched for years for her long-lost sister and found her.

A burial will be held noon on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Ramsey Creek Preserve.
