William H. Fletcher, Jr., 97, of Seneca, widow of Shirley (Rashotte) Fletcher, passed away on July 8, 2026.

William was born on July 31, 1928, in Red Bank, N.J., the son of the late William H. Fletcher and Bertha Almeda Harding Fletcher. When he was 3 years old, his family moved to the Bronx, N.Y. and when he was 8 years old, to Los Angeles, CA. He served in the Army in World War II in the occupation forces in Japan. He returned in 1948 and entered UCLA where he graduated in 1952 with a B.S. in Chemistry and was commissioned a Reserve Lt. in the US Air Force.

He worked initially for Shell Oil Co., and then had a career of 30 years in Manufacturing at The Dow Chemical Co. He retired from Dow in 1984 and moved to Seneca, S.C., where he was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 120.

Survivors include his sons; Bruce Fletcher and wife Debbie of Salado, TX.; Carl Fletcher and wife Carla of Brighton, TN. And granddaughters, Tracy, April, and Victoria Fletcher.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. The family will receive friends prior to the mass from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.

Entombment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
